Details: Formed out of the influence of the spikes and stud street punk movement of the late 90s and early 2000, The Ghouls sound like the bastard son of hardcore punk and horror rock. The band started in the summer of 2001 with Singer Robert Price and after several line-up changes came to include Johnny Apathy on guitar, Zach Volta on Bass, and Eric End on drums. Taking their influences from such classics as the Ramones, The Misfits, and The Clash as well as the bands they grew up watching such as The Unseen, Oxymoron, The Casualties, and Philadelphias own hometown heroes, The Virus. Combining break neck speed with catchy choruses and dark melodic lyrics, The Ghouls are at home creating a circle pit at every show while the projecting their anger, aggression, and cynisism through their sound. Having toured with bands like Abrasive Wheels, The Unseen, Funeral Dress, and Red Alert and shared the stage with such acts as The Misfits, The Casualties, Rancid, The Business, Leftover Crack, and The Virus, The Ghouls keep themselves busy through energetic live shows and a rigorous touring schedule. With a Black Flag Get in the Van mentality of touring, the band tries to keep itself on the road as much as possible. In early 2005 this hard work paid off as Mark Unseen released the bands first 4 song E.P. Its Your Time to Die on his label A.D.D. Records. This release catapulted interest from several other labels and in mid 2006 the ghouls signed to California based SOS Records for their full length. Scheduled for release in November 2006,the 12 song release Stand Alone will see the band on the road headed for the west coast in the fall, and then a full US tour with yet to be announced label mates in the spring, as well as a slot on the world famous (or infamous) British Invasion festival in March. Come see the band destroy a stage near you!
Details: Sandinista! was a band founded on the basis that whole hardcore punk thing is more than music and fashion. The band itself tried to exemplify that idea with their lifestyles and music. All band’s members (in case that line-up has changed few times) took part in or supported various groups including antifascist resistance, anarchist movement, Food Not Bombs and Animal Liberation. Also all members were strict vegans or vegetarians. Sandinista!’s lyrics deal with such issues as war, ecology, consumerism, society pressure and extinction of native breeds. Musically inspired by 90s heavier newschool hardcore (Unbroken, Undertow and “rather be dead” era Refused) and political hardcore bands like Econochrist, Catharsis and Tragedy Sandinista! tried to step away from punk hardcore standards creating their own vision and style. http://www.myspace.com/sandinistaxspbhc

Details: As stated in my other review this month, i love the noise, whether it's noisecore (CONFUSE, LEBENDEN TOTEN, AGHAST, FEROCIOUS X) or just straight noise, i love the fuzz and screeching whir but this is too much for me. There is nothing beyond the punishment to form the tunes and it's just noise for noise sake. I just feel that there something missing here. It's just a bunch of banging and screaming.(MRR) CHAOS AND DESTROY! ! www.myspace.com/chaosdestroy

If you like Jap legends Confuse or Gai mixed with classic UK82 noisemongers Disorder then this will be a classic. It is fully charged with agonising feedbacking mega-distort guitars (ala early JAMC) and a female singer going spazztix over the clattering explosive racket. You should be able to make up your minds by playing that track below.
Details: Tokyo crusties with the collection of their v/a compilation, rare tracks, live and unreleased tracks. Fans of DOOM,EXTREME NOISE TERROR take note. http://www.myspace.com/abrahamcrosss
Details: This record finally comes out! Philly's Motor-Charge delivers their newest and I'd say best record. All the elements of a great D-Beat/Crust record are all here. Fist pumping gang vocals, distorted bass, lots of cymbals, solos to do spirit fingers to and the obligatory songs about war. The vocals alternate between 3 singers, which adds a lot of variety. Oh and I should mention in "Lust For War" they take the line from the movie 300, "Tonight We Dine in Hell" and make it punk. Fuck You Hollywood!

Compilation Ep, 19 tracks from their demo in 1994, 3 tracks from the Fucking Noise Terror Comp Cd and 3 previously unreleased songs….
Details: Oh yeah, this shit rips! Audio Kollaps hail from Germany and play burly crust/grind that just smashes your head into the pavement. I love that whole crust/grind crossover sound and I have to say these guys are pushing all the right buttons for me. They kind of remind me of a brutal mixture of Terrorizer and Napalm Death with just a few touches of death, crust and thrash thrown in for good measure. They mix the sound up nicely by balancing a lotof classic elements of both the crust and grind genres. These guys are much more rooted in that classic grindcore sound like Terrorizer where you don't have to blast the whole time to keep the sound punishing, instead they utilize plenty of blast beats but space out these sections in order to make them all the more crushing when they do occur. This is damn fine stuff and represents everything I love about the classic grind bands of yesteryear. If you dig Terrorizer, Napalm Death and Brutal Truth then you should be all over this one. I highly recommend to all grind fans out there.
Details: Warvictims new EP!! D-beat raw punk in top notch recording.. not like other d-beat raw punk recorded in portable radio ;-)
Details: Superapes are hardcore / crust with female vocals from Slovakia, ex- The Public.
Details: This is the anticipated follow up to the Life is Beautiful 10" (HALVEP016, December 2004) with ten tracks of a raging mix of crustcore and classic Swedish råpunk. Nine new tracks and a re-recorded version of the song Sjuka Jävlar from their split 7" with Human Waste (HALVEP011, July 2004). Parts of the emotional side of the sound are now gone to give more space to the more raw side of Personkrets 3:1.
Details: Twelve new tracks that show a band that know what they want and know how to get it done. Convincing delivery of fe/male vocals, dual charging guitars, thundering bass lines, hard urgent drumming - when put together this is as powerful as it gets. Massmord play aggressive high-quality Swedish crustcore with a good balance of sharp melodies and extreme heaviness and are without a doubt one of the best bands currently operating in Sweden.
Details: Personkrets here delivers 6 new songs. Truely amazing käng, with clear references to Human Waste, Skitsystem, Besk and Totalt jävla mörker. The format of this release really fits the whole picture; despair and angst.
Details: The Human Waste material on this is far the best from this group! Indeed, a 'zine mentioned Personkrets 3:1 plays suicide promoting crustcore. Ever felt själsligt sönderknullad?
Details: The final chapter, as this will be the last 7” EP by Personkrets 3:1. After this release, the band will split up. If you liked the album THE GLORIOUS DEAD CD/LP (HALVCD022/HALVLP022), this is for you. Three new songs recorded in May 2007. The release are more metal than ever before from the act; still you will recognize the sound of the gloomy crust from the cold north.
Details: M:40 are delivering crustpunk from Lidköping, Sweden. Here the band gives us a fair share of what great crustpunk should sound like; in the vein of Skitsystem, Human Waste and 365 dagar av Synd/Dödsdömd. On the flip side you will find grace.will.fall. Hardcore from Jönköping, Sweden. Driven, strong hc just as their previous split 7” EP with COUNTERBLAST, although this one makes a definite approach. If you ever get the chance, you have to see this energic act live!
Details: Back with a vengence! This is indeed a progression and a step forward from their most excellent HEJ KOM OCH HJÄLP MIG MCD. This time with a complete fullength; which contains of thirteen new songs and one re-recording from an old demo. Although playing crust; this band has something unique on their agenda. Clever and thoughtful lyrics; which make this band somewhat alone in what they are doing and doubtfully will stand out from the rest. Prepare yourself for a d-beat attack of furious anger; despair and the with the glimpse in the eye. Thus towards new heights.
Details: Crust/hardcore from Lidköping. Twelve songs of total fury! Fullength album recorded at HoboRec, Jönköping. The songs are mixed with slower parts, which keeps the record as a whole interesting and focused. As on a prime note; crustpunk has never - and will never be - better than this. Think Totalt Jävla Mörker mixed with Neurosis!
Details: Finally, ten years after the initial release of "Frihet?", Halvfabrikat has compiled the ultimate OPERATION compilation! Almost ever song ever recorded by the group can be found on this CD. Most of the songs have never before been available on this format. Essential in every anarchocrustpunk collection! As long as you don't resist, you're supporting the system!
Details: 4:48 was the given title to the album, which is the time when the majority of people commit suicide. With a new band, and new fresh songs, there was an urge to let the sound freshen up. The act was soon in contact with Marcus Lundberg, the owner of BloodWork/SoundPark Studios i Norrköping, who was excited over the challenge of creating a new sound for Aktiv Dödshjälp. The album has a sound that makes the listener recognize the band. The music has developed into something new, and thanks to the new members, the band has been take to a whole new level, that weren’t possible before. The music is harder and more metal, but still has a base of crust in it. 4:48 is a record that will affect everyone that listens to it... it will knock the listener down in his shoes.
