Details: This is great metal/punk split EP. S.A.B. represent metalpunks from L.A. chapter, playing sort of old Motorhead, Sodom, Discharge, Inepsy with d-beat touch and sleazy guitar riff.
WHIPSTRIKER are one of the best metalpunks from Brazil, their tracks on this are really reminds me of Motorhead in Motorizer and Inferno era, while the vocal part reminds me of old-Venom.
The best about this split are both bands have great guitar solo. This is a must for MPDS!!!

KONTRASEKT - s/t EP

Details: This crust monster hails from Minneapolis and rural Minnesota, and boasts ex-members of DRESDEN, STILLBORN, and TWI MINUTE TANTRUM, just to name a few. They play heavy pummelling crust that reminds me older DOOM filtered through a Japanese crust band. The band is raw but not so much you that you can’t distinguish the various parts, you can clearly hear the driving bass riffs through the wall of heavy distorted guitar. The vocal are guttural and haunting, with so much reverb that they appear to be screamed at you from the bottom of a deep, dark pit. The lyrics are short and to the point, not needing a ton of words to get the message across. This is a killer debut that has me head banging along every time. Crust as fuck!!

This is sort of weird releases, as it contains tracks from appearances on various splits and compilation, but rather than compiling the original recordings onto one disc, the band re-recorded everything so that it has the consistency of a full album. If you haven’t heard these guys, they play blazing, anthemic, and totally triumphant Japanese HC in the traditional style. They totally ripped at Chaos, and this is by far the best I’ve ever heard them sound on record. Crushing and Smashing!!
