GEROGERO GENBAKUTAI - 30th Anniversary CS

Details: GEROGERO GENBAKUTAI was formed by Yasushi and Shogo in 1986 from northern most mega city Sapporo, Japan as an anti-technical band. The objective was to create simple and easy to be remembered songs and to expand their live performances. The band include members of that time defunct Napalm, Yasushi as vocalist. This cassette is full discography tracks from 1986-1990 in the time of the band was still active. The demo tape was first released by the band in 1986 and in 2016 which marks GEROGERO GENBAKUTAI 30th anniversary, the demo plus unreleased rare tracks have been re-issue on Pro-Cassette by Warcloud Recs

Details: Seems like Singaporean Punks more active on recording new tracks thesedays.  Been listening to MINUS Discography tape and Distrust this week. And here the another Lion City punks new MC’s BLINDED HUMANITY tittle Blinded Again. In these new cassette EP they delivered 5 new d-beat crusties hardcore feel. Heavy distorted guitar and anger vocal reminds me of FRAMTID, and the pounding of drumming style smell like MOB47 and E.N.T!  Overall great cassette EP, if you into ANTI-CIMEX (Victims of Bombraid), WOLFPACK/WOLFBRIGADE, E.N.T and Japanese crust this cassette are worth buying. And yeah this cassette comes with button and small poster.

DISTRUST - War Years - promo CS

Details: This cassette were given free only for punk distro I guess, since they wrote FREE TAPES FOR THE PUNX DISTRO. Right, Distrust been quite sometimes, they had a CD released under my label around 2005-2006 called ‘World Of Tomorrow’. Well this cassette consist 5 new tracks plus 8 old songs and 4 live tracks. Talk about this new tracks, Distrust are ‘D-beat Arpreggio from hell’. I know few punk quite didn’t like guitar solo and all. But they try as good as they can to present different kind d-beat bands out there, when they put lots of shredding in their tracks. I might think the guitarist are really love Malmsteen as his influences for playing guitar. Well musically Distrust are fall into ‘DIS’ band category. Heavy influence from DISGUST (UK), DISCHANGE, and of coz DISCHARGE. The part I didn’t like are the way the vocal styling. Other than that DISTRUST is still awesome D-beat bands.

MINUS - Anger Arise year 2014 CS

Details: Well this double cassette are repackage of their previous new recording entitle ‘Give My Freedom’. Please refer my previous review on this tape. And other tape are also rereleased of their discography which released on my label around 2000. Fourteen years goes by the tracks in this tape are still never get old. MINUS been around since early 90’s. They never turn their back from punk rock till today. Even every genre come up MINUS still with their style of hardcore punk. Heavy  influence from UK bands such as The Exploited, Partisans, Varukers, old E.N.T and Discharge in their early days. This tape consist “Freedom For Who’ demo, ‘Fight Back’ demo,  ‘War’ Demo and 4 unreleased tracks. All these tracks were recorded between 92 to 2000. But the quality are magnificent!! The best to start getting know this Riot Punx are all are in this double tapes.
